Find out about the three projects that our colleagues from Fluidra presented in the Start-Up Village by 4YFN area at the Piscina & Wellness Barcelona trade show.
The finalists from Fluidra in the innovation competition to go to Silicon Valley took part in Innovation Week and, after spending a week developing projects on the IoT and exploring new trends used in the pool sector, our colleagues presented three innovative initiatives in the space reserved for start-ups at the Piscina & Wellness Barcelona trade show: Cubic, Poolmeet and Spoolify. Would you like to find out about them?
Cubic: training for triathletes
Presented by Roberto Svaldo (Internal Audit), Eduard Zomeño (HR) and Daniel Canais (Shared Accounting Services).
Given that it is estimated that there will be around 5 million triathletes over the coming five years, the idea behind Fluidra Cubic is to bring virtual reality to pool environments so that these sportspeople can enhance their training. How? By developing a small space able to exactly reproduce situations they face in competitions. A heated environment with a current of water, an air current in and out of the water, 360º LCD screens, video cameras, and heated and salt water are the elements required to carry out this project.
Poolmeet: socially friendly pools
Presented by Josep Tura (Fluidra Accelera), Laura Capdevila (Shared Accounting Services) and Carlos Sancho (Fluidra Comercial España).
The concept of Poolmeet for sharing pools was inspired by the philosophy of collaborative consumption. Did you know that most pools in Spain are underused? The idea of Poolmeet is for bathers to contact private pool owners through an app to increase the use of their pools. In exchange for lending their pools, owners receive a reward in the shape of money or another type of service (company, having the pool cleaned, a meal, etc.).
Spoolify: the pool that adapts to your mood
Presented by Mercè Ferrer (IT Assistant), Xavier Saumell (EEA Sales) and Jordi Cirera (Fluidra México).
Sometimes we need to relax, whilst at others we feel like a fast pace, energy and fun. Why should a pool always be in the same state if our moods change throughout the day?
That is what Spoolify is all about: adapting a pool depending on the owner’s mood and the used to be made of it. The idea consists in users choosing a specific mode (chill, workout, focus, kids, etc.) from an app so that the pool automatically sets the water temperature, the lighting and other interactive features that enable pool owners to feel they are making the most of their pools. It can be directly synchronised with Spotify so that the settings in and around the pool match the music you are listening to.
