We are proud to present a very special project carried out in Russia by one of Fluidra’s subsidiaries, Astral SNG. It involved the design and construction of an exceptional musical fountain in the Moremoll shopping centre in Sochi. The fountain was installed in April with great expectation from both the media and the public.
Since then, the installation, with its five special effects, has consistently amazed visitors to Moremoll. Without a doubt, the most impressive feature is the 18 metre high central water jet.
The musical fountain also has 32 vertical spouts (that each reach 12 metres high) and no less than 72 parabolic jets that can be adjusted to fit each individual display.
Surrounded by seven waterfalls, the fountain creates an original and striking water screen for showing videos or advertisements, all of which results in an innovative and versatile water feature. The 142 spotlights work elegantly to the rhythm of the music and water.
The project’s dramatic performances were envisioned by Isabelle Vinardel, a Cirque du Soleil choreographer. The water displays are coordinated from a state-of-the-art control system with which the fountain can be programmed.
Carlo Fontana, Head of Projects at Astral SNG, attended the opening ceremony. During his speech on local television, Fontana spoke of the complexities that the implementation of such an ambitious project entails, as well as the challenges faced in the design and construction of the fountain.
