Fundación Fluidra presents the KAG-25 project to set up a horticultural concern in Senegal in the framework of the second Corporate Concert.
Employees, customers, suppliers, shareholders and other stakeholders attended the Fundación Fluidra corporate concert, at which the Escolanía de Montserrat choir sang and music was played by the Orquestra Sinfónica del Vallés at Barcelona’s Gran Teatre del Liceu.
The event served to raise awareness about the first project taken on by Fundació Fluidra in Senegal: KAG-25. The aim of this initiative is to convert a 25-hectare farm in the south of the country into a viable horticultural concern. To do so, more than 2,000 children and young people will be trained over four years on matters related to agriculture, in addition to improving the existing infrastructures by introducing sustainable irrigation and energy generation systems.
In his opening speech, Eloi Planes, our executive president, wished to highlight our company’s commitment to society and culture. Our social responsibility has found its expression following the setting up of Fundació Fluidra, “through which” – in the words of Planes – “we hope to better focus our initiatives and make a greater impact”.
In turn, Joan Planes, president of Fundació Fluidra, and founder and honorary president of Fluidra, highlighted the value of the foundation as a means of restoring people’s dignity. “At Fluidra we have always believed in the sustainable use of water and in the democratisation of its access to all collectives”, he said.
