On 10 September, the swimmer Mireia Belmonte took a break from her tight schedule to sign autographs in a shopping mall in Barcelona. AstralPool attended this event, which also served to present the sportswoman from Badalona as the image of a watch brand.
Surrounded by fans and onlookers, Belmonte was photographed next to the latest version of the BCN03 Eco starting block, which was developed and patented by AstralPool for the 2003 World Swimming Championships in Barcelona. This starting block reflects AstralPool’s innovative spirit as it was the first one that enabled swimmers to manually change the angle of its platform.
Made of polished stainless steel, the starting block has a detachable platform that makes it easy to put the electronic stopwatch in place. Measuring 550 mm in length, 500 mm in width and 437 mm in height, the BCN03 Eco is ideal for pools with side walls.
Mireia Belmonte arrived at the event weighed down by medals and acknowledged that she felt especially proud to have been selected for two of the world’s major swimming events: the World Championships in Kazan (2015) and the Olympic Games in Rio (2016).
In the third heat of the World Cup, which took place on 29 and 30 September, Belmonte won three more silver medals to add to her collection. The Catalan swimmer’s next stop will be in Moscow on 4 and 5 October, where she will compete in the fourth heat of the competition.
