Fluidra is reinforcing its commitment to culture by joining forces with the Catalan Culture Foundation, an initiative that was created with the aim of encouraging businesses and cultural organisations to work together. This foundation is backed by the Ministry of Culture and a group of eight leading companies from Catalonia and has the support of the Catalan National Council for Culture and Arts (CoNCA) and the Catalan Institute of Finance.
Broadly speaking, the Foundation’s purpose is to find new methods of funding for cultural projects, as well as encouraging an increase in the resources that are allocated to culture. In order to meet these objectives, the Foundation is always looking for new methods of funding and seeking out new partnerships with private companies, foundations and international institutions.
Together with Fluidra, the Catalan Culture Foundation’s Board of Trustees is made up of Havas Media Group (Acta Diurna), the Banco Sabadell Foundation, Gramona, Grupo Damm, Grupo Planeta, Hewlett Packard, and the Carmen and Lluís Bassat Foundation. These eight organisations will contribute to the Foundation through their extensive knowledge in the areas of management, communication, dissemination and internationalisation.
When deciding where to allocate funding, the Foundation gives priority to emerging artists, as well as to any projects that show a clear willingness to make an impact on society that are in the early stages of development or that involve the restoration of cultural sites and buildings.
The Board of Trustees, officially appointed on 23 October and chaired by Damm’s CEO, Enric Crous, will meet at least twice a year. Our representative on the Catalan Culture Foundation’s Board of Trustees will be our CEO, Eloi Planes, and our director of communications, Bea Strebl, will sit on its Executive Committee.
Fluidra is proud to take part in a project that helps to restore culture’s place as the cohesive backbone of society.
