Earlier this summer our Corporate Health, Safety and Environment department sponsored Chinese Safe Production Month, the theme of which was “Strengthening Safety Management through training and practice to Ensure Safe Production”.
Fluidra China Industry carefully planned and launched various activities including general cleaning to improve the production environment, safety checks, safety knowledge training and special-purpose fire-fighting drilling.
Our three plants in Ningbo (Dongchuan, Linya and Loitech) first held general meetings to mark the beginning of the initiative, promote the joint participation and explain the objectives.
Following the meetings, a thorough check, known as a “6S” check, was carried out focusing on electricity safety. Training on safe production regulations were conducted by showing educational films, such as “Analysis of Typical Accidents in 2017” and “Locking Operation Security” and by holding contests on safety knowledge.
Training courses on fire-fighting were provided, covering the usage and maintenance of fire-fighting equipment. Complete fire drills were also conducted covering self-rescue at early stage, evacuation, first-aid, initiation of emergency plan and fire extinguishing.
Outstanding workers and teams were praised for their daily performance and participation in the month’s activities.
The successful implementation of Chinese Safe Production Month not only improved employees’ safety awareness and ability to respond to emergency accidents, but more importantly laid a solid foundation for future safe production at the plants.
