In line with our aim of boosting our growth in the Asian market, we have opened a branch office in Vietnam. From our new base, lead by Gary Siah, we will be able to make the most of any opportunities that arise in this country.
As Eloi Planes, Fluidra’s CEO explained: “We are extremely familiar with the Vietnamese market as we have been exporting our products there for over 20 years and our brand AstralPool has become a leader in the pool sector”.
Following this opening, the company now has 43 branch offices around the world, seven of which are now in Asia, which is a strategic continent for our growth. According to the World Bank, Vietnam is experiencing growth of 5.4%, which coupled with its emerging middle class makes it an attractive place for international companies that wish to expand on the Asian continent.
Vietnam has also managed to gain a stronger foothold as an increasingly popular tourist destination in the Asia-Pacific region. The country is improving its transport links and infrastructures to make it easier for international travellers to get there and to travel around the country once they arrive. The booming tourist industry is attracting the hotel sector, which could significantly increase the demand for our products.
Over the past few months, we have completed a number of notable projects in Vietnam. Last year we installed swimming pools and water features at the Angsana Lang Co Resort, a project estimated to be worth 1.3 million euros whose facilities include five pools of 700 cubic metres with five different water features, pools of 20 m3 for each of its 132 suites, in addition to saunas and steam rooms.
In 2015, we will install a spa and pools for 12 luxury suites at one of the Banyan Tree Lang Co Residences under a contract worth an estimated 330 thousand euros.
