Good news from Eastern Europe! In order to continue expanding our business in the region, we have opened a new subsidiary in Croatia. It is located in Zagreb, the country’s capital and largest city, and joins those we already have in Serbia, Montenegro, Romania and Bulgaria.
Eastern Europe is a strategic region for Fluidra. In 2014, 5.2% of our sales were made in this area. Fluidra Adriatic, which covers 600 square metres of office and storage space, is managed by Nino Ganchev, the head of Fluidra Serbia and Montenegro.
In a statement to mark the opening, the group’s CEO, Eloi Planes, said that “Croatia offers many possibilities for the water sector as it is one of the biggest tourist destinations in Europe. The country has invested a great deal in quality infrastructures, such as pools, wellness facilities and spas, in order to attract tourists with spending power all year round.”
With a population of 4.2 million inhabitants, Croatia is a very tourist-oriented country. Around 13 million tourists, primarily Germans, Slovenians and Austrians, visited Croatia last year. The country has also implemented the Croatia 365 programme to break the seasonal nature of its tourism demand and provide attractions all year round.
