Inclement weather and the presence of insects are two factors that often make it difficult to keep pool water clean. To address this problem, AstralPool has designed efficient pool cover systems which help to prevent heat loss and slow a pool’s deterioration.
It is important to remember that pool covers reduce water loss through evaporation by 30% in public pools and by up to 65% in private pools. Consequently, a cover can provide 25% energy savings on evaporation, convection and climate control processes.
Covers also serve to protect users from falling into the water in case of an accident when the pool is not being used. This is particularly important if small children can access the pool area unattended.
Currently, AstralPool sells two types of automatic covers: above and below ground, both with rigid slats and available in various colours with a motorized roller. These systems can cover the water surface for safety and improved maintenance in both new and existing pools.
The in-ground models (Roussillon, Conflent and Ceret) are best suited for new pools and integrate seamlessly with the pool deck. The roller mechanism is located in separate sunken compartment sectioned off from the pool by a brick or PVC panel.
The above-ground models (N-Carlit, Carlit [which runs off solar energy], Vallespir and Narbonne) are ideal for existing pools where users want to incorporate this element of protection. The roller mechanism is located outside the pool, that is, anchored to the pool’s edge.
The following video shows the installation of this above-ground system in an existing pool.
In both cases all systems are activated and silently operated with the simple turn of a key. The results are easy to see: regular water level is maintained and the pool is kept clean and free of foreign objects like leaves and suspended particles.
