The five days see 12 of our colleagues assemble into four teams to work on new projects to develop at Fluidra. The participants this year are:
All the projects this year were based on sustainable development in the wellness and pool area to enhance people’s quality of life and improve the environment. Two projects will be declared the winners and the teams responsible will be given the chance to implement their idea at Fluidra Accelera.
On day one of the event, participants gathered at Espai CREA in Barcelona’s Ciutat de l’Aigua to start the first phase, Inspiration, where the groups began to shape their ideas for the first time. The first activity involved attending a short session on inspiration and keeping an open mind in order to achieve it. R&D+i director David Tapias provided tips and a motivating speech on how to be inspired and what to expect from Innovation Week.
The groups assembled mid-morning to get down to brainstorming their ideas. Each team has to develop its project around a theme of energy, materials, and of course, water. From this
starting point, ideas began to form and self-imposed limitations are broken down. In the spirit of Innovation Week the participants were encouraged to bring something new to the table and develop ideas which challenge the status quo.
The session ended with the four teams being transported to Món Sant Benet, where they spent the night and had the chance to visit the monastery.
