Think about the moment when you wake up. What do you usually do? Do you roll over or get straight up? Do you take a moment to get a grip on how you feel? And when you go to bed – what’s the last thing you see before closing your eyes? Your cell phone? The TV? Our habits when we wake up and go to bed can drastically change our way of seeing things and are key to facing a new day.
Last month we introduced you to Ester González and mindfulness, an activity that is ideal for increasing concentration and learning to be aware of yourself and your own body.
We learnt the importance of keeping a healthy mind and focusing your attention on what you’re doing at all times, concentrating solely on one activity to the exclusion of other thoughts.
We know it can be tough getting going with mindfulness – indeed it might even seem impossible – but there are some habits you can start to introduce into your daily life to begin to release your mind and prepare it for full awareness. To give you a little push and encourage you to get started in this practice, we’ve put together three mindfulness habits you can adapt to your daily routine and which will change your view on things and help you feel differently about what’s in store.
Try them and tell us what you think!
