Viron, a new concept in pool pumps

The proper maintenance of a pool largely depends on having an efficient pumping system. Pumps are the main mechanism for making water circulate in a pool, so if they malfunction there is a high risk that the water will not be properly cleaned and its quality compromised. AstralPool has introduced the Viron range of variable speed pumps to carry out this task as efficiently as possible.

Variable speed pumps have a number of advantages over single speed ones. Firstly, pump speed can be adjusted depending on the characteristics and needs of each pool and user, and power consumption drops by over 85%, which can save users up to 900 euros a year on their electricity bills.

Secondly, these devices have a practical LCD screen on which users can check the motor’s rpm and they can set the pump’s running speed without any trouble whatsoever. Furthermore, there are four timer settings whose speed can also be selected.

The Viron variable speed pumps have also marked a step forward in terms of sustainability. By changing their speed and flow rate, the pumps’ useful life is extended and the wear and tear on the rest of a pool’s components is reduced. This process minimises environmental impact and can result in an annual reduction in CO2 emissions of up to one tonne.

In addition to contributing to environmental conservation, these pumps will also give you peace and quiet. With a noise level 75% below that of a single speed pump that is imperceptible to the human ear, these pumps are the quietest ones in the market, so they are perfect for making a pool a place where one can truly relax.

This range of pumps has two models: the Viron P320 (minimum annual power consumption of 374 kWh) and the Viron P600 (minimum annual power consumption of 367 kWh). In order for users to be able to choose the model that best suits their needs, AstralPool has created the Viron energy efficiency calculator, a practical online tool that selects the most suitable pump depending on the size of a pool. In addition, the system gives information on the energy savings that would be made by installing a Viron pump instead of a conventional one.
